About

Mostly ‘we’ is Jonathan Bowyer.

Working both as a solo coach and facilitator, and in teams with other facilitators, trainers and consultants

Working closely.

Jonathan maintains close working relationships with his clients and enjoys the fact that some of them have lasted more than two decades. He most often works alone, but can also call on a wide network of friends and colleagues to build a diverse team for more complex commissions.

From industry onwards.

“I usually say that I’m in my third career.  Initially I worked in the oil and gas industry – exploring for oil in Egypt, then in adventure-based learning in the English Lake District and since then in developing people and organisations.”

I’ve held senior management roles in operations, marketing and people management. For more than 25 years, I’ve enjoyed working with leaders and leadership teams in a wide range of different organisations; from senior executives and Directors, to family business owners, the self-employed and academics.  I’ve worked in Companies (of all shapes and sizes), Universities, the NHS, European Institutions and International NGOs. Often, the challenges are the same, even if the context is hugely different.

The view from where?

“View From Here” began in 2001.

Rather than boasting about the great view from my office, the name reflects the fact that I enjoy helping people and organisations see things from different points of view. ‘View from here’ is an instruction, like ‘this way up’ or ‘handle with care’. Seeing things from different points of view can help to develop partnerships and team working, resolve conflict and improve leadership and management performance.

I have a keen interest in values-based leadership; helping employers and employees to be true to their own values and helping organisations connect with their local communities.

I’m also interested in technical solutions that support human, behavioural and cultural change – hence the development of our bespoke 360 degree feedback platform and the SenderSense approach to communication in organisations.
